Totally Techniques - Watercolour Spritz Technique

Hello Crafty Folk - welcome back to another Totally Techniques blog hop. This month we are highlighting the Watrcolour Spritz Technique.

Hope you enjoyed Marine's project this month - I think its totally adorable.  This is my card:
I believe that we have all followed Kim Peck's YouTube tutorial which is really simple! Sticking with my traditional square cards, the only twist with this card is that it is an easel card and features a sneak peek of a new stamp set coming in the Annual Catalogue which goes live on 1 June.

My base card is Bermuda Bay mounted with a square of Cupcakes and Carousel DSP - I love the whimsical design that features clouds. . . I have also used Shimmer White Cardstock as my "canvas" for stamping.

I used the "splotches" stamp from Gorgeous Grunge (I am going to miss this set the most of everything that is retiring with the Annual Catalogue this year as it is my "go to" set) in Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry and spritzed the stamped images as soon as I had applied all three to the cardstock.
I love how the colour leached down the yardstick. I then stamped the "fly poo" stamp from the same set in Archival Basic Black as I wanted a dramatic contrast to complement the stamped feature of the card. I used s ski strip of Copper Foil Card to tie in the copper and texture theme of the card, along with the copper dotty wash tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi set.

The new Copper Trim featured in the new Annual Catalogue is going to be the most popular ribbon or trim in the cattle this season is my prediction. I have teased the copper trim out of its thin tubular shape, the trim is a terrific mount for the stamped image and adds texture and a bit of glimmer to the card.
I love the pain brush pot from the new Crafting Forever stamp set. I stamped the image on a piece of the Cupcakes & Carousel DSP paper  in Archival Basic Black ink and fussy cut the pot out. Next I stamped the image again on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut the entire image. I coloured the paintbrushes and pens with the Watercolour Pencils and blended the colour with a Blender Pen.
I adhered the DSP pot to the stamped image and dimensionalised the image off the base card. I have used Copper Thread for some housing behind the stamped image to marry in with the copper highlights. As another contrast I added a few Bermuda Bay sequins from the trim (that is retiring).
I used Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie to marry in with the copper theme as the orange is a nice contrast with the blue and remind me of the way that copper oxidises.
The inside of the card is mounted with another square of the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and a plain piece of Whisper White cardstock. I added a piece of the copper spotted wash as the method of levering the easel.
I hope that you have enjoyed this fun card and that you will pop by our next blogger Zoe Tant who has an amazing creation to share with you this month!
Until next month, glitter is gorgeous

Fancy Folds - Envelope Punch Gift Card Holder

Welcome back to another Fancy Folds Design Team Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the Envelope Punch Gift Card Holder Card. . .

You may have just visited with the amazingly talented Monica Gale - her project this month is beautiful. It's hard nofollow in those footsteps. . .This is my creation:
I followed the easy to understand YouTube presentation from Jackie Topa

My base card is Rose Red which I don't use very often but I wanted to create this card for my mum and this tone of red suits her. I matted the Rose Red with a square of the same colour, then a square of Blushing Bride and then a square of Whisper White. I stamped the flower images on a separate piece of white cardstock.

The flowers and leaves are three step stamped from Penned & Painted - the larger flowers are stamped in the following colours:

Blushing Bride
Flirty Flamingo
Rose Red
Real Red (centres)

The leaves are stamped in:

Pear Pizzazz
Mint Macaron
Old Olive

I then fussy cut the flowers out and mounted them with glue dots and double dimensionals (putting two layers of dimensional). I also added some blotches of Clear Wink of Stella and Sprinkles Embellishments (sequins and beads).

I wanted a little extra height in the flowers to differentiate them from each other. I like double dimensionalising for that reason.
The sentiment is from Greatest Greetings which is a really versatile set and has greetings for nearly every occasions imaginable. I stamped it in Real red to make it pop. the ribbon is Flirty Flamingo  Ruched Ribbon.
The inside of the card is also decorated with a fussy cut stamped image for the Penned & Painted set. I wanted to tie in the theme both inside and out.
I secured the edges of the insert card with glue dots to make sure that the insert card sat very firmly and flat so as not to interfere with the smooth operation of the card.
This was such a fun card to make and I hope that I have done the fancy fold justice. Thanks for stopping by.
Don't leave us yet though as we have some amazing projects for you to check out. Next stop is the totally incredible Tanja Kolar - her project is adorable!
